Tips from Keflavik International Airport to downtown Reykjavik and Blue Lagoon / Sky Lagoon

Airport: Most international flights arrive at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland, and the Airport code is KEF. There is also a Reykjavik domestic airport, mainly flying to other cities in Iceland and also Greenland.

Airport shuttle : Flybus and Airport Direct

Flybus:

Airport – Reykjavik: There is no fixed departure time, usually around 45 minutes after the flight arrives

Reykjavik – Airport: Depart every hour

Price: from 4999 ISK per person (including hotel/tourist bus station pick-up), book in advance or buy tickets at the airport counter

Advantages: convenient, fast and direct

Disadvantages: The departure time is not as long as Airport Direct

Airport Direct:

Airport – Reykjavik & Reykjavik – Airport: There are fixed departure times. Depart every hour.

Price: from 4490 ISK per person (flexible ticket, including hotel/tourist bus station pick-up), book in advance or buy tickets at the airport counter

Advantages: convenient, fast, direct access, excellent price

Disadvantages: Each person can bring a box not exceeding 23 kg for free, if there is more luggage, an additional charge is required

No. 55 bus:

Airport – Reykjavik & Reykjavik – Airport: There are different departure times on weekdays and weekends, according to the schedule

Price: from 1960 ISK per person, pay directly on the bus with Icelandic Krona cash or credit card

Advantage: Cheapest, many intermediate stops

Disadvantages: No pick-up near the hotel is provided, and do not depart from downtown Reykjavik sometimes

Blue Lagoon: Destination Blue Lagoon bus or taxi

KEF Airport – Blue Lagoon: 8:30 and 16:30 (more depart in summer)

Blue Lagoon – Airport: 14:30 (more depart in summer)

Reykjavik (including hotel/tourist bus station pick-up) – Blue Lagoon: every hour

Blue Lagoon – Reykjavik (with hotel/tourist bus station pick-up): every hour

Price: from 3995 ISK per person

You can only take a taxi if your flight time is not fit with the schedule.

Taxi, KEF Airport to and from Blue Lagoon, 20-25 minutes, 1-4 people per car, about 8,000 – 10,000 ISK (according to the meter)

Taxi, Reykjavik to and from the Blue Lagoon, 45-50 minutes, 1-4 people per car, about 18,000 ISK (according to the meter)

Sky Lagoon: City bus or Taxi

City bus: You need to transfer from the city center to Sky Lagoon, and the walking time adds up to about 15 minutes

Price: from 550 ISK (free transfer within 1.5 hours), directly pay Icelandic Krona cash on the bus or buy tickets via KLAPP app.

Taxi: Most convenient, about 10-15 minutes, 1-4 people per car, about 4,000 ISK (according to the meter)

Taxi in Iceland: Expensive!

Daytime on weekdays: The starting price for a car for 1-4 people is 730 ISK, 394 ISK/km (the first two kilometres), 272 ISK/km in the city, 437 ISK/km in the suburbs, 149 ISK/km for parking and waiting every minute

Evenings and weekends: The starting price of a car for 1-4 people is 730 ISK, 463 ISK/km (the first two kilometers), 339 ISK/km in the city, 437 ISK/km in the suburbs, 185 ISK/per car for parking minute

Statutory holidays: The starting price for a car for 1-4 people is 990 ISK, 625 ISK/km (the first two kilometers), 458 ISK/km in the city, 590 ISK/km in the suburbs, 250 ISK/minute for parking and waiting

Pay directly in Icelandic Krona (ISK) or by credit card according to the on-board meter
